DAY 59 - LEGGETT - LAYTONVILLE, CALIFORNIA

Cannot find a RV Park; i.e., no electricity; i.e., no uploading pics...gas is $4.16 per gallon & will not run SPIA. Will try to set up my 1,000 Watt Auxiliary Generator to create electricity for the Mini.

In the meantime...

This morning, walked 8 miles out from Leggett, California to the SPOT ON THE MAP of CUMMINGS, CALIFORNIA ... and back to SPIA.

Then drove SPIA to the rather nice village of LAYTONVILLE, CALIFORNIA, about 25 miles South of Cummings, on US 101. US 101 is NOT a freeway at this place...just an ordinary 2-lane road with sharp curves and loads of traffic...very dangerous to walk on...but walk I will do this afternoon back North from Laytonville.

It has rained HARD all day. Low clouds created FOG everywhere. Wind pickup up about 9:00 am, making it miserable to walk.

Have nearly finalized a decision to get away from US 101. As we approach San Francisco...only 150 miles South...the traffic is becoming very heavy and dangerous.

Upon reaching WILLITS, CALIFORNIA, plan to head East on Canyon Road then South on Tomig. That will eventually take us into CALISTOGA, CALIFORNIA and South into the Napa Valley.

Willits, California is about 50 miles South of Laytonville - where we will stay for the night -.

Must start watching my Pennies...Blog updates may become less with Pics.

We shall see.

More later.

Bruce,
I happy you wrote your most recent blog post NOT in all upper case. Much easier to read using both upper and lower case.
