Today, we left California ... and reached the city of BANDON, Oregon.
$$ have become of short supply. In Banden, we found - on Christmas Day - no place to create our Blog Update. We stopped at the SHOOTING STAR MOTEL which rescued SAM AND ME some three years ago, when we faced a similar problem. Again, we were gifted a room for the night, so I received our first MOTEL of this Winter Journey. Thank You - again.

The lower mountain Side behind the entry Gift Shop is a artistically created series of trails featuring Giant REDWOOD TREES exhibited to represent well known themes.
City of RIO DELL at the AVENUE OF THE GIANTS ... a 30 mile long roadway through a number of REDWOOD TREE Groves, small villages, and interesting Gift Shops and Camping Grounds.

I have dined at the PALM during two previous walks down the PACIFIC OCEAN Coast from CANADA to SAN FRANCISCO BAY.
On one trip, met my bearded Russian friend from the VOLGA RIVER, RUSSIA as he peddled his bicycle around the World ... now on his 19th year. Should I realize my LISBON, Portugal to BEIJING, CHINA saga, I have an invitation to sojourn on the banks of the VOLGA River.

The final hour, we searched for a place to stop for the night.
CHRISTMAS DAY does not offer much from which to choose .. it is CHRISTMAS DAY for others, too.
SHOOTING STAR MOTEL finally found us as it became dark.
Fortunate for us, a real bed with hot water shower.
HAPPY, PROSPEROUS and PEACEFUL YEAR: 2016.
