POST 1236; FEBRUARY 06, 2014; WALDPORT, OREGON

BBbbrrrrrr...it is still VERY cold and raining pitchforks in NEWPORT.

Moved back to WAL-MART last night...and with the car shrouded in solid ice, I bumped into a RV...no damage to the RV, but my MAZDA MPV has its first scratch.

Spent a good part of this morning walking NEWPORT...some images below...all taken in pouring rain...fog...cold...

The YAQUINA bridge...my pic taken later in the day after spending some time walking the Old City Waterfront.

Pleasre say HELLO to CAROL and Hubby from BEND, Oregon.   Enjoyed a rather lengthy chat with them...and naturally, did not write down their name.

 PIG & PANCAKE...the 5th such restaurant in Oregon I have walked to...and first I purchased a bite ... a second b'fast of four Buttermilk Pancakes...$6.00.   Yum !

some photos on display inside PIG & PANCAKES...

...and another...

...and another...this actually two photographes superimposed...

Please say HELLO to ELLA and COURTNEY...employees of PIG & PANCAKES...

Please say HELLO to SHERRI...

Historic NEWPORT Waterfront...

pics under rain filled very cold skies down on the NEWPORT Waterfront.

...Local home with interesting detailing...

Waterfront wall MURALS...

Riverfront reaching under riverside shoreline...

...walking in pouring rain along US 101....Oh My, it is so very cold !   Thank goodness the car is not far away...I try to stay close bt...no more than one hour walk back to security, comfort, and protection...especially in such deplorable weather conditions.

Please say HELLO to ROBBYN.  ROBBYN is a young man managing the Convenience store in the village of WALDPORT, Oregon, to where I have driven for the night.  ROBBYN and I have passed the late afternoon and early evening - between customers - chattin of those seriously critical moments one encounters at every stage of life .  Way to go ROBBYN !!!

The above  image is representative of the clay that I have written about...that when subjected to resonance of certain level turns to liquid, i.e., being subjected to intense shaking by large EARTHQUAKES.

Much of the West Coast of America consists of this Clay soil.

Please say HELLO to MIKE...Manager of a local Real Estate Company...under the guise of an elaborate Museum.  MIKE and I spent some time conversing in his ornate offices...much to my pleasure.

MIKE's Office Building./..not bad for catching the eye of passing motorists.

Please say HELLO to  BRENDA...Client and friend of ROBBYN..to whom I was introduced in the midst of creation of this, today's blog update.

* * * * * * * * * *

Will drive back to Mike's office, where I will overnight.  Early tomorrow, will once brave the promised continuation - for the next 5 days - of the severe rain.  At least, temperatures are to rise a bit in ranging from 45 to 55 F.
